This is a great thread and really shines on why the board still has relevance. Thank you all for posting. As for me, I've got a pretty good RA and my more recent area of interest is building an extreme tank SW. I know, you just giggled. Anyways, my Twin-zeee and I have just the problem identified in this thread regarding PVE boss attention(Aggr). I can stand up to just about anything you throw at me but the trick is to try and keep them/it pinned down. We're working on approaches. At least with my SW there seems to be a zillion different ways to stun and freeze. Keep posting Community - good stuff.

With all due respect, I think you're taking it a little too personal. I am simply pointing out the design flaw, not targeting you specifically. Just want to clear that up in case of any misunderstandings. I and many other players, will group with people for the company rather than the boss kill speed. I just pointed out the flaws in design that should be addressed if possible in the new expansion.

As for DPS classes surpassing DK's potential in DPS, I would argue that a full out DPS glass cannon mage with 3000g premium 2h staff + lightning strike can outdps a 2h DK on a boss, especially because of how bosses' lower resistance vs armor ratio.

Rangers surpass DK in burst DPS with adrenaline and precision shots, but not in sustained DPS. Rangers will burst more than Mages on players in PvP, but in PvE mages will generally burst more damage on bosses/mobs. That burst DPS is also what makes RA the best class (in F2P category) for PvP. I wrote a detailed post on PvP balance of classes in the ranger's section of the forum. Ranger's strength as a class, in my opinion, is that they are the best solo class in PvE to tackle difficult content when undergeared (while other classes like DK/Mage will not stand a chance). Rangers are jack of all trades and that makes it a fantastic solo class. Of course, the lack of armor break really hurts group play and plenty of rangers stay in the backrow spamming nothing but hunting arrows (not even use net -_-) also hurt the class' reputation.

Is ranger a bad class? No. In fact, it is my second favorite class after DK (playstyle preference). A 1 month RA can tackle on hard content that will take DK/Mage 6months+ to achieve. The tradeoff is that RA also got a lot less potential than DK/Mage; and that is fair game balance. Specialized classes should always surpass jack of all trades in the areas they specialize in.

Of course, everything is theoretical with regards to classes' full potential. In reality, whoever pays the most wins, regardless of class choice.

Lets Rephrase that a little. "In reality, whoever plays the most wins, regardless of class choice."

Good catch, it should be "whoever pays the most will have significantly higher probability of winning, regardless of class choice". After all, even a cripple can beat a healthy man in a race, just unlikely that is all.

Keep in mind that time spent farming for andermant is equivalent to purchasing. Ander farmed vs ander bought is the same thing when buying from instore shop. F2P can become "P2P" if large amount of time spent on farming. Traditional P2P just do it faster.

Lets get straight ... every boss can be killed in a group without DK in it. I do the boss runs without DK almost every time. Only good DK can be considered for grouping ... because with good DK you minimize the mistake factor that can happen if other class is tanking.

The other classes have similar issues with the lack of choice ... but that is another topic to debate.

It is Herald of the Underworld ... more like a title than a name.

Like I said earlier that is not true. For a proof I can enclosure the latest Destructor exploit (which was fixed).

As for the possible flaw ... like you said in the title ... you can never prove it ... simply because you wouldn't know what were the designer's intentions and ideas.

You can NEVER put F2P nad P2P in the same basket. F2P can never catch up with the P2P ... especially not with the P2W ... no matter how much time one F2P spend farming.

Of course, I never said bosses are not doable without DK. All bosses can be soloed regardless of class, take a look at the media section of this forum. Some classes just do it faster, more efficient with less resource spent. The discussion was focused more on efficiency rather than if it's possible (since it's a given that it is possible for all).

Sure, and give a brief explanation to us, so we know what to look for specifically in your video to prove your point. Thanks.

Check out the "Showcase of classes" threads on both the English and German forums for each classes, you'd be surprised at what some F2P players achieved with years of constant farming. :)

I just did gave you the reference ... for everything else you will have to search the web and find explanation on your own.

I am one of them ... I know what it takes.
But do you believe in "showcase" threads?
    1. There is no single proof the screenshot and the stats are not tampered with.
    2. You believe every single one of them when saying "I am a F2P"? In few occasions I asked the DSO Team to reveal if at least single dime is spent on my account ... how many of them can do the same?
    3. How many of them are breaking the rules and T&C of this game? (botting, cheating, 20 persons playing one account 24/7 ... etc)

Buying only premium account ... itself ... is a huge boost that helps a lot in the progress ... not to mention purchasing other goods.
F2P simply never can catch up with them ... it is simple as that. I got friends who managed to catch up with my gear, gems and stats in a few months ... by only buying premium but it can't be vice versa ... F2P can't achieve that even if it is farming 24/7. It is undeniable fact.
But we are off topic now. :D

onus of proof is on you, not me.

No doubt premium is a benefit (compared to non-premiums), no disagreement from me. But how much one can benefit from the premium depends on the amount of time farming for cubes, the likelihood of cube drops and what one finds in those cubes. But yea, premiums definitely have advantage over non-premiums. But... if you play more as non-premium, you can definitely catch up.

Nahhh ... I have done my homework it is your turn. :p
I play average of 8-10 hours per day ... and it is not enough ... you know people playing more?
If you do then we can go back to my previous question:

There's an old legal axiom: "The truth is the ultimate defense." Taken to extremes, the concept of radical honesty can get a lot of mileage to what is true. It squeezes out the charlatans, weasels, and bull crap artists from dominating the conversations, along the way.

It's nice to see the process working. :):)

Always love how your comments add to the topic of discussion. Right, they don't and are totally irrelevant.
Pretty sure if you make a claim, the onus of proof is on you, not me :). Imagine if I told you god exist, and then as proof, go search the internet.

I have no idea if they break the TOS or not. Maybe they are, who knows.

I don't need to search the net for that ... I believe you ... you are speaking to HIM.

Posting bugs, exploits ... etc ... is forbidden on this forum ... but "reasonable" discussion related to it is not.
Now ... if you don't know what I am talking about ... you will have to do the search and make conclusion.

My point was it is possible for non-premium to surpass premium, just takes more time. Premiums definitely have advantages over non-premiums. Nevertheless, we're getting offtopic, this topic is about the design flaws with aggro. We can continue this discussion in the other thread on paying vs non paying member.
