    Hello,
I recently purchased the pet called Bug-Collecting Jabbax, which should award you with 6,00% Crit Rate once activated.

However, my current Crit Rate is 10,36% which i only assumed would add up to 16,36%
But instead it adds up to 10,98%

    Is this a joke?
I just paid 16k Andermant for 0,62% Crit Rate?
If they mean't 6% of my current rating, then for gods sake, write that in the description instead of using straight up numbers.

Can someone shed some light on this illogical subject?

    Thanks.

Yea im fully aware of that :p

Critical Hit Rate, Crit Rate is another term of that.
    Still waiting for an answer.

You're doing the game math wrong. Add up all sources of +critical hit value, add up all sources of critical hit rate, then multiply the rate against the crit hit value.

Without knowing your gear, it seems you a fairly low +crit hit value, and probably no other sources of critical hit rate%. 10.36% is probably about 1050 or 1075 crit, and multiplied against 1.06 due to your pet only gets you up to 1113 or 1140. Thats why you're getting 10.98%.

    Hey there @Arccai ,

Yea. It only increases you the absolute value of critical hit value in 6%.

So, if you have 6000 critical hit value, you must have now 6360. It does not increase your relative value (percentage one).

    Cheers,

    It doesn't work that way.
It adds to the % crit hit pool (%( crit hit enchantments, set/item bonuses, buffs, pets ...etc)).
If I have 2020 crit hit from enchantments (no % crit enchantments used)

and put on Helmet of Darkness (which is giving 35% crit hit)
    it should be 2020+35% = 2707
since I am too stingy :D I have Concentrated solstice crystal inside the helmet which is giving 4% crit hit
    that would be 2020+39% = 2807.8 (rounded 2808)

If I put the Dark Gloves ... +5% crit hit bonus from the set will activate.
    That is 2020+44% = 2908.8 (rounded 2909)

If additionally buff (10% crit hit) is activated that would add 10% to the pool (35%+4%+5%+10%)
    That would be 2020+54% = 3110.8 (rounded 3111)

Your pet should add to the pool (35%+4%+5%+10%+6%)
    2020+60% = 3232 (29,13%)

That value you see in the brackets is a function f(x). (max value is 80%)
    where x is your level.
For level 50 (in the screens) the value is 110,95 and we can calculate:
    f(value) = value/110,95
    = 3111/110,95
= 28.0396575033799 (rounded 28.04 just like the value in the last screenshot)

Well, uhm, yeah. With your current character setup, your bonus is that low.
But fear not. With the right equipment your pet can give you even better overal dmg boost that 5k gold pet. Obviously you have to heavily focus on crit-rate and crit-dmg. Roughly you would need at least 60% critical chance and x2.5 crit-dmg, for your pet to be worth using (the better these 2 stats you have the greater effect from pet).
If you're newer player and don't have good gear, i would recommend looking into 2 Myrdosh sets. That should get you jump started into right direction.
    good luck

Everyone is right on the money. You are victim of the classic "misunderstanding the game mechanics/math" problem.

You may feel ripped off, but if and when you ever get a significant amount of crit, that 6% becomes more significant too. If you had 5000 base crit, that 6% would be worth 300 crit which is a 2.7% increase to the crit rate. 2.7% more crit rate can improve DPS by 3%-6% easily if you have enough crit damage, and in end game, 3%-6% DPS is nothing to sneeze at.
