Preamble: Saturday the fan that should blow out air from my pc broke. I ordered a new one (25€, so I assume it is of good quality...), that arrived yesterday morning (I didn't use PC till yesterday).

After I started playing R209, I noticed a smell, like if something was burning, so I runned a program that keeps under control hardware parts' temperature, and that's the result:

It never happened before to have such high temperature while playing DSO, but the recently changed fan may be also involved. Also, to be honest, it isn't increasing this much if I play different games, so idk.

Is anyone having the same issue?

Temperatures around 50-60C are just fine.

The smell you notice is happening sometimes when you install a new hardware or if you let some dust/dirt inside while installing your hardware. Nothing to worry about ... as long it is not a fan failure or some other malfunction. Keep an eye on it for a few days.

FWIW, there is also a known issue with ASUS motherboards and SpeedFan software. The temperatures don't necessarily read correctly. If you are using an ASUS motherboard, you may wish to go to their website and get their analysis software.

    Hi,
As Traki mentioned those temperatures are just normal for running any app. Also, based on Intel specs, they fit in the average.
As long as the computer doesn't restart every time you play or it doesn't freeze you are just fine.

    Gl!

    Ty for your answeres.

I believe the motherboard I'm using is Asrock, or something like that.

Anyway, my concern is about the temperature being higher compared to pre R209... I monitored temperature sometimes in the past weeks, because weather is getting more summer-like, and playing DSO ut was always around 50°. Now while playing is like 58-60° (the picture is the one right after closing the game... I loaded the wrong one:oops:)
